The Ground Rules

When you run TechMail, you are the operator and are responsible for the mail it sends and receives, and for complying with the laws and the policies of your DNS and network providers.

Acceptable Use

Do not use TechMail to send unsolicited bulk email, to impersonate others, or for any unlawful purpose. You are responsible for the deliverability reputation of any domain you connect, and for honoring the terms of your hosting and network providers.

Accounts & Access

You are responsible for the accounts you create and the people you grant access to. Keep credentials secure and revoke access that is no longer needed. Activity on your instance is your responsibility.

No Warranty

The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Email delivery depends on third-party DNS, networks, and receiving servers outside your control, and is never guaranteed.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for lost mail, downtime, data loss, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from running the software. Operating a mail server is inherently your responsibility.

Your Data

Because TechMail is self-hosted, your messages and credentials live on infrastructure you operate. Keep your SECRET_BOX_KEY and database backups safe - losing them may make encrypted data unrecoverable.
